ELSA Lucern Study Visit to ELSA Sevilla-US

It all started on May 4th last year when we, ELSA Seville-US, got a proposal from ELSA Lucerne to receive their Study Visit, which we had the pleasure to host in our city (Seville, Spain) from the 6th to the 9th of October.

This activity was an important milestone in our local group, as we are a very young (only 3 years old) and small group. Therefore, the fact that a group of European students wanted to travel to Seville to visit us was something very important and, at the same time, a challenge that we wanted and had to face for our members, as being on the Board of a Local Group it is our duty to provide them with the activities they deserve.

During the process of organising the study visit, as President of ELSA Seville-US, I was in permanent contact with ELSA Lucerne's Vice President for Seminars and Conferences, Yasmin Kugler. At all times I was attentive to the needs and wishes of her local group, trying to make their stay in Seville as pleasant, enjoyable and complete as possible.

I must stress that working with Yasmin was always very easy to handle. One of the keys to the success of this event was her patience, hard work, dedication and commitment. But of course, both my team and I believe that there was a great team behind Lucerne. So we extend these words to all of them.

But it would be unfair not to talk about the efforts of my team at ELSA Sevilla-US: Inés, Carmen, Roberto and Francisco. They followed me in the adventure of hosting this study visit and were wonderful hosts for the ELSA Lucerne students, and, without them, the visit could not have been possible.

On arrival their in Seville, we were impressed that a group of 11 people came, which we found very positive as it indicates that ELSA Lucerne has a very integrated group in the whole ELSA project and that they did a great job in promoting the trip. Their behaviour was exemplary from the first moment we met them. They always had a smile on their faces, good humour, a desire to have a good time and a desire for us all to integrate with each other. This was very important as one of the aims of ELSA's international network is to build bridges between different cultures and generations.

Throughout the whole trip, they left room for improvisation and letting go. This gave rise to great moments of great complicity between the two groups, because in addition to having a concrete programme of activities, sometimes it can be decided that we simply feel like doing something that was not proposed from the beginning. And that's fun.

All this makes it our aim to return the visit to Lucerne. It is our wish to share moments with this fantastic group again and to create new memories for the future. We are sure that this will become a reality this year or next year. We are very proud to call you friends: Merlin, Nives, Magdalena, Lukas, Franz, Rahel, Hedda, Fabian, Lea, Yasmin and Pascal.
