ELSA - The European Law Students’ Association
The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) is the world’s largest independent law students’ network, founded in 1981 by five law students in Vienna. Today, it connects over 60,000 members across 41 countries and 350+ law faculties.
As an international, independent, non-political, non-profit organisation, ELSA empowers students and young lawyers to develop their skills, gain international experience, and build a professional network.
Through academic projects, international conferences, moot court competitions, traineeships, and human rights initiatives, ELSA provides opportunities to engage with diverse legal systems, foster intercultural understanding, and prepare for careers in a global legal environment.
ELSA also holds special consultative status with UN bodies, the Council of Europe, and WIPO, ensuring its members’ voices are heard on the international stage.
